Thank you to anyone who can clear this up for me. In the Game Capture Software, make sure the game sound dial is not set too low. Make sure the sound output of the computer is not low or muted. If no audio is heard via the preview even though the audio monitor bars are moving. Only fix I have so far is to plug my headphones into the monitoring port on the mic and get all sound through that. Click on the speaker button to un-mute the preview. I had an issue where it was sending my voice chat audio back to the line out on my mic. However, 'Headset Earphone (Astro A50 Voice)' does give me sound, but according to the device properties it is 2 channel stereo instead of 6 channel like it says in the 'Headphones (Astro A50 Game)' properties.Ĭan anyone clarify for me how I can setup my Gen 3 A50's for Dolby Digital Surround on Windows 10 over USB? Is the 'Headset Earphone (Astro A50 Voice)' exactly what I need? If so, what is the point of the 'Headphones (Astro A50 Game)' and why does it output nothing? If no preview sound is heard, the preview may be muted. also i do not have any bluetooth drivers installed at all because i have no devices that use it. the headset appears to be a standard 2.4 Ghz connection instead of bluetooth which may be why it only works with the USB hub. However, when I set 'Headphones (Astro A50 Game)' as my default output on Windows 10 I get no sound. i do not see the switch you speak of, only the pairing button (i have the pc only version, not the ps4/xbox one). From what I understand, this is OK for the Gen 3's since you can get Dolby Digital surround sound over USB.

However, I'm building a new PC soon and it looks I may need to get a motherboard with no optical output. I have a set of Gen 3 Astro A50's that I've always used the Optical output on my PC for with no issues. I was curious if anybody could help me troubleshoot an issue.
